Gulmarg (Jammu & Kashmir)
Gulmarg is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in the Baramula district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The beautiful hill station is filled with attractions. The biggest being the Gulmarg Gondola – One of the world’s highest operating cable cars. The snow covered terrains are ideal for skiing or snowboarding on the sloped terrains.
But the entertainment just doesn’t stop here as Gulmarg is reckoned to have world’s second highest golf course, situated at an altitude of 2650m. The 18-hole golf course and is spread over an area of 7505 yards. Few kilometers drive to Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve can thrill you with sight of Musk Deer, Red Fox, Black Bear and other wild mammals roaming in the conifer forest.
What is travel without good food, in Gulmarg, Vegetarians can enjoy Dum Olav or Kashmiri Dum Aloo, an extremely fragrant and light preparation with flavorful whole baby potatoes in deliciously thick yogurt based gravy, loaded with nuts (or nut paste) and dry fruits and non-vegetarian can relish on the fresh, delicious Roghan Josh.

Shimla – Kufri (Himachal Pradesh)
Whether you want to beat the summer heat or experience wintry chills, Shimla is always on the ‘must visit hill stations of India’ list of family vacationers. You may or may not witness snowfall but yes the chances are always brighter between 20 Jan 2018 – 30 Jan 2018. Shimla is a metropolitan, filled with big and small brands in the Mall Road, divided into three layers, the top, the middle and the bottom. Trek down the Tibetan bazaar and skate around in the ice skating ring. Not that far off from Shimla, drive to Kufri and enjoy beautiful ice covered hills of Himachal. Go for skiing, sledging and enter snow making competitions.
Pahalgam (Jammu & Kashmir)
Pahalgam is the Indian Switzerland, surrounded by snow covered mountains, pine forests, green meadows embellished with the gurgling white rivers such as Lidder, Aru and Sheshnag.
Once there, do not forget to visist Kolohoi Glacier, situated up the Lidder Valley, just below Kolhoi Peak is currently a hanging glacier, Betaab Valley,the valley located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Pahalgam. The valley got its name from a Bollywood movie Betaab that was shot here, Sheikhpora, a small hill village located on Apple valley Road (from Bijbehara to Pahalgam). The village is famous picnic spot, because of its breathtaking scenic beauty and surrounding panoramic view, where one can have an eye on the Holy Shrine of Aishmuqam.
It is not just the days which are scenic, the nights looks even better with Fireflies swamping the atmosphere lighting it mystically.
Kullu-Manali (Himachal Pradesh)
The famous Hill Station Kullu-Manali is best with breathtaking natural beauty lofty snow-capped mountains, Thick forests, Fruit orchards, beautiful Hamlet’s and meadows carpeted with lovely wildflowers will captivate all your senses. Besides all these the pristine River beers flows through the heart of the town offering various camping sports and watersports. All action in the snow in Kullu-Manali lies in the months of December and January. One can get into multiple activities like Snowmobile tours, yak skiing, Heli-hiking, which is a helicopter supported adventure to reach remote mountain areas in a few minutes, which otherwise is several hours or days journey. Once you reach the desired location, you can enjoy a walk, trek or a picnic, and then return to the base location.
Auli in the Indian state of Uttarakhand is renowned for the fascinating ski resorts and stunning natural vistas. Bounded by the snowy peaks of the mighty Himalayas, this hilly terrain offers the enchanting sceneries of oak fringed slopes and coniferous forests. At an average height of 2800 meters, this might be the single spot where the visitors would get the unusual opportunity of a nice promenade.
This place is known for regular skiing competitions, the place has a 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) cable car, a chairlift and a ski lift, along with a maintained trek route.
